Course Overview:

This course will identify the proper way to identify a colonized wound and how to swab culture a wound correctly. Review of wound principals, wound identification/treatment options by wound type and patient education. Additionally, we will cover when to refer wounds out for a higher level of care.

• Describe the wound healing process. 
• Identify wound types. 
• Determine when and how to culture. Determine when NOT to culture. 
• List products and dressings for wound care.
